I was on a beta blocker (for rapid heartbeat) a few years ago and i gained 30 lbs in a year and a half. My metabolism slowed way down. I am now off of them but my metabolism hasnt recovered at all. I have tried so many things but nothing has seemed to work.

The only way to boost metabolism is to build muscle and exercise. It is unlikely that your metabolism has slowed. Usually weight gain comes from reduced activity or increased eating. Medications can make you feel sluggish or increase appetite, which results in weight gain.
After gaining 30 pounds it's likely that you are not as active as you used to be because general activity is harder 30 pounds heavier. You'll have to make an effort to be more active during the day and you'll have to log your food as accurately as possible.4
