How to determine end goal of weight loss

Hi,
I am losing weight and want to determine my end goal, at least do an estimate. I already lost 13.4 kg, from 106 kg to 92.6 kg, and my current idea about my ultimate weight is 80 kg (BMI 22.6) - but this might already be too low. My general stats: I am 188 cm and muscled by nature (I don't do fitness). I always thought my muscles grew a lot the last 8 years (18-26), but I am not so sure about that anymore after losing some weight - but they surely grew something. When I am 88.5 kg my BMI will be 25, but I understand that this is the maximum of the healthy weight, so I guess it's better to be 21 (which would mean 74 kg) or something, but because of my more muscular built I think that might be too low. So, how to find where to set my goal?
Weight stats:
76 kg when 18
92 kg when 24
95 kg when 25
106 kg when 26 after stopping smoking
now I am 92.6 kg, still being 26.
So, what are your ideas about this? How do you determine your weight loss goal?

Set your goal at a BMI of 25 (the upper range of "healthy"), then see how you look/feel at that weight. If you need to lose more, you'll probably be able to tell at that point, and there's nothing saying you can't maintain that weight for a while and then decide to lose more later!0

Nothing is carved in stone. Reevaluate as you go along. Track your progress not only on the scale, but also by how clothes fit, measurements, fitness goals and progress photos.
Besides, there's no such thing as an "end goal," only changing goals.0 -
Hi there,
You might try plugging in your information here: http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/
It has a goal body weight calculator. You'll need an estimation of your body fat percentage to do so. There are some more calculators on the website to help you determine that number.
Take it as a guide but not absolute truth - for example, my stats are:
5'6" tall (167 cm)
157 pounds (71.4 kg)
~26.6% body fat
According to the calculator, at the lowest healthy body fat percentage for me, which is 21%, my goal weight is 146 lbs (66.4 kg). There's an explanation on the page as to how it comes up with the number. However, since my body fat % was a rough estimation based on some tape measurements, my actual "goal weight" could be different.
Just a tool to get you started. Good luck.0 -
To determine my ending goal i take my desired BF% and then chose a healthy weight. IE a healthy weight for a 24 yr old 6'3 male is abt 180-190 so i will be finished once i am 180@ 10%bf0

Thanks for your replies, was helpful! I will get a measuring tape so I can fill in the online tests.
Another question: if I am more muscular then average, would you say that a BMI below 22 would be too low, or do you think you have to be really muscular for that to be too low. What are your thoughts on this?
Anyways, I hope to learn more through measuring and will adapt my goal as I go.0
