Lol just kidding.
There have been a few sugar posts lately so I thought I would link a blog post on it.

Great title--really draws us in! However, I like sugar. It's just like anything else though, too much of a good thing can be very bad.1

the thing that always amuses me is when (non-diabetic) people try to equate the sugar in fruit to pure table sugar or sodas.5

Because the sugar is the same.6 -

You missed the whole point of the blog post.
The sugar in the fruit is the same as the sugar in the soda.
The difference lies in the fact that the fruit, because it also has fiber and vitamins, will satiate you more and give you some nutrition as well. To address the issue with diabetics, the blood glucose rise will also be slower due to the fiber, but that's a separate issue and it's important to be precise when you're talking about these things.
The digestive process in your body is a separate issue from the chemical composition of your food.6 -

It is the same sugar (glucose and fructose, in various combinations, mainly).
The difference is either the amount, the form (which may affect how satiating it is), or what else it's with. I wrote a whole post about how people focus on the sugar when the only difference is the crowd the sugars hang with. (Which is also the point OP and others were making.)
No one is equating foods, but YOU miss the point if you try to make it about sugars being different.3
