This will be the first Halloween in my entire life -- decades! That I will not have even one piece of Halloween candy..

My rule for Halloween candy is to buy the stuff that I hate, so I'm not at all tempted to eat it. So anything with coconut and gummy types of candy are what we hand out :)

Halloween candy is why I joined MFP in the first place! Since that first Halloween, I come up with different rules for myself each year. This year, I'm planning not to eat even one piece until Halloween is over. Then I'll let myself eat a couple pieces each day, logging every one, until it's gone. One year I didn't eat even one. I'm an all or nothing kind of person so it wasn't that hard. Another year, I bought stuff I didn't really like but I still ate it so that wasn't a good year. Just decide how YOU want to handle it!

I am planning this like a boss. We've bought Twix bars and Kit Kat bars. I can't eat either of those due to celiac disease. On Halloween, I'll buy myself a Snicker bar for a treat and Peanut Butter cups for my husband.

This is a win all around. My daughter loves Twix and my son love Kit Kats. They will split the left overs.

We get about 300 trick-or-treaters so we usually don't have any leftover candy!

This year I'm going to try and do what I did last year, buy it after Halloween at a discounted price and only touch it in the New Year.

I try to buy the stuff I don't like, too, but it's soooooooo hard. Just haven't bought anything yet. Gonna wait till the last minute if I can.

I've never been very tempted by sweets, but my mom uses Halloween to buy a few bags of the bite sized candies that are so available right now, gives them to dad to hide, and then asks him to retrieve a piece of two when she's craving it.

I never ate the trick or treat candy. Never considered this an option even. Weird. (No sarcasm, genuinely surprised here)

nice to hear all your input. Yeah, I am known for my great candies giveaway on my work desk here, but not this year. Everyone that works here is very large (not being mean, just a fact) So they notice I'm losing weight and keep telling me oh just have one or two. NOPE... if I don't buy any, I won't eat any.
