Can it be done with dumbells only at home?

I did for years successfully. I generally follow Bill Phillips' body for life lifting method. It was just dumbells going higher in weight successively. I still use his lifting method 18 years later but in a gym instead of at home. It still seems to work for me.

Yes. The internet has many home workout plans available. Pick a full body plan, do it for 8 weeks and assess your progress.

Not new rules for lifting women. New rules for lifting FOR women. Otherwise I would most definitely ask their permission beforehand

Can anyone recommend a good at home programme for 6-8 weeks?

I recommend the Thinner Leaner Stronger book by Mike Matthews if you are looking for an all-in-one resource.
Bigger Leaner Stronger by the same author is also good; it is the one I recommend to many guys, especially if they have a lot of questions.
One is targeted towards women, the other towards men, but they have about 95% the same content.

They both cover nutrition well, teaches you how to spot BS when it comes to fitness, the whens & whys of cardio, includes a 12-week lifting program that you can customize and more.

TLS & BLS presume you have access to a barbell and a squat rack or the like, though.

I am also a fan of Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 method ("531") if you are serious about having a strong, healthy body but you still need access to a barbell & rack.

I personally use the nutritional advice from BLS with the 531 lifting program.

Disclaimer: I believe almost everyone should be weight training and focusing on the Big Compound Lifts, regardless of what they think their "fitness goals" are.

Check out fitnessblender on YouTube. They have a few hundred videos to choose from including many at home weight lifting videos. I believe they also have programs available on their website.

Any lifting program can be done at home if you have the equipment to do it. What equipment do you have?
