yeah I'm one of those But only add me if you don't mind swearing, the odd TMI relating to being a human being that no-one generally talks about (I'm not talking sexy-type TMI, I'm talking more bodily functions for example) and extremely long status updates9

Hey!! I'm a mum from Australia. I lift heavy weights. Have been doing this for 3 years and I love it!!! I used to weight 110kg now I'm 78. I'm currently dieting to get down to 69. So all your support would be great! I have two children 5-9 boy- girl. And a very loving hard working but then couch tired hubby. So it's all on me to get this.4

I started lifting to lose the 40 lbs that I gained from baby #1. And I continued lifting up until the night that I gave birth to #2, and only gained 15lbs from him! Sold. I will lift until the day I die.7

I'm a mum that lifts. 43yo son
@blwelch1 here is a thread with links to the most popular programmes.
Read through them and choose the one that fits your lifestyle best.
Start light and learn form first.
Remember heavy lifting is lifting what is heavy for you.

Lurking, mostly. Seeing what the successful people here do and then researching until I found what was best for me. There's a level of trial and error involved (some programs weren't for me), but I'll never not lift. I'm only sorry I didn't start sooner.1 -
I'm a 45 year old mom with two kids. Been lifting for over 20 years. I lifted even when pregnant3

Good for you! I really like Brittany Lesser's videos. She's friendly and fun.0 -
I am a mom and I just started back into Stronglifts after dealing with some injuries. Basically starting over, but that's ok.2

Mom of 3 I've been lifting for only 5 months and I've lost a ton of fat and gained some muscle. Doing mostly body pump and free weights and barre on other days. You ladies look awesome! I sometimes get a little discouraged because I want to gain more muscle then I am, any tips would be much appreciated! Thanks!1

I'm not entirely sure why I clicked on a thread regarding moms that lift. That said, take a look here: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10332083/which-lifting-program-is-the-best-for-you/p1
Take a look at those, see which one(s) seem to match your goal(s), see which of those use equipment you have access to (or tossing out the ones that use equipment you don't have access to might be easier), and try one. If you like it, keep doing it. If not, try another.1 -
hahaha I just got changed in to my gym stuff and the husband said are you going the gym?
i said no going to do a kettlebell video off youtube to which he replied
YOU SHOULD JUST DO IT NAKED
erm Im not sure ANYONE even my husband needs to see that3 -

Lifting mom of 3 here. huango, your goals sound a lot like mine. I've gotten the pullup (will probably have to start over because I haven't really been able to train them lately due to Serratus Anterior injury), but I am STILL working on the handstand. I've been working on that for a long time.0 -

If you want to gain more muscle you will have to gain weight by eating at a surplus (this is what I am currently doing). If you don't want to do that, you can recomp although it will be slower (and muscle gains will be less noticeable). 5 months isn't a lot of time.. be patient and you will get there1 -
I am one. Also have an instagram I post in all the time more then on here.
Lifted for almost 2 years pre pregnancy, took time off due to complications when pregnant and now back at it for almost 6 months again. Started above 36% body fat and now down under 20% and over 75lbs from my original start.
Feel free to add.2 -

After 5 months, I have gone from pancake bum to a cute little perky bum. It's still too small, but the shape is there and I'm developing a curve in my lower spine.
What am I doing?
I'm now
185 lbs on hip thrusts (barbell)
130 lbs cable pull throughs
Reverse back extensions holding 30 lbs
2 20 lb dumbbells curtsey lunges
20 lbs single leg hip thrusts
50 lbs single leg deadlifts
100 lbs dead lifts
30 lbs cable single leg pull backs
and I started with nothing and did progressive overload over 5 months. I only just started to notice real results about a month ago.

oh and I should add that I'm doing single leg clams, monster walks, sumo walk and sitting clam with bands. Bret Contreras has some great videos on this1
