Yet another example of CICO in action - a journo has been on a (calorie controlled) diet of beer and pies (for 4 weeks, plus multivitamin supplement) and lost weight.

I'm down with that!! LOL0 -
We used to have a fast food restaurant when I was in college called "Zips". They made the best burgers I've ever had. At the time I was living with 2 roommates right out of high school and was about 50 lbs overweight. Within a year eating Zips burgers and fries and drinking pretty much nothing but light beer every night I lost all of that weight and more lol. I would eat an average of two (my guess is 1000+ calorie or more) double cheese burgers a day with a large fries and probably a six pack or more of beer along with two medium Coke's a day from Zips. I call it the "Beer and Zips" diet. I was probably not healthy but I was pretty much the skinniest I had ever been haha.1

I read this too, what I love is the comments from people who don't understand what calorie counting is and that it actually works. He would of felt terrible eating only pies but he lost weight!0

You could probably do a pretty balanced (though not low carb) pie-based diet. Meat and veg pies, fruit pies, shepherd's pie, pierogi, pasty, samosa, empanada, spinach pie... ;-)4

I'll give it a chance if we want to include pizza in the pie category . . .3

I love it. CICO works. I have celiac or I would try it. More data is good for science; unfortunately, I would likely die of dehydration if I ate any gluten every day for 4 weeks. I miss Guinness. I make a damn good GF pie crust.0

When I met my BF 4 years ago I shared my "weight loss journey" with him. We both love craft beer (hence one of my many reasons I'm constantly having to lose weight...). He told me a about a guy he read about that only drank beer for like a month. No food, just beer. Lost 30lbs. Now, I think that sounds awful, even if I do love the stuff. Too much of one thing has to be miserable.0
