How does MFP calculate how many macros you should be consuming?

For example, I'm supposed to be eating 50% carbs, 20% protein, and 30% fat but for some reason that just doesn't seem right to be. Does anyone know how MFP came up with that ratio of macros? Is it because of the goals I set for myself on the app?

That's the default macro balance that everyone is given. It fits with the US government's recommended intake guidelines of:
Protein: 10-35%
Fat: 20-35%
Carbohydrate: 45-65%1 -
Is there a way to change it to make it more sspecific? I see that some people have ddifferent portions of macros for the day0

That's a paid feature I believe.
What macros do you think you need and why?1 -
I'm not sure, I need to do more research but I'm working out a lot more than I used to including running and weights and I've been trying to cut back on carbs, not drastically necessarily but I feel like 50% is too much and I should be having more protein than that but again, I'm new here so I need to look into what ratio is best for me I guess.0

On the website, go to My Home > Goals and click Edit beside Daily Nutrition Goals. That will let you change your percentages. Be sure to save your changes. The Pro version of MFP would let you set a gram amount rather than a percentage.0
