Health Issues Because of Weight

Found out recently there are problems with my liver and my gallbladder. I was told the liver could probably be handled by exercise and nutrition. I've already lost 10lbs prior to recieving this news. Just feeling overwelmed at how far I still have to go. I don't feel very good a lot of days, which makes going to the gym very hard.

Start with a calorie deficit to lose weight, and start walking for weight loss

You are empowered to make the best choices for yourself! You got this!

Something that helped me was having fun with cooking/nutrition and exercise. Making new recipes and challenging myself to try something new each week really helps me feel good about the choices I am making. Exercise comes in all sorts of activities- you can do cardio/strength train, take walks/jogs around your town, dance classes... all sorts of things.

It is overwhelming to feel unwell. Perhaps you need to take it in stride and start by taking walks and simply moving your body more?

Of course, I am just posting quick thoughts but I hope you continue to push yourself to being healthier. Weight loss can be slow moving, and it's okay if it is. What's important is you know that this is right for your health, and you are improving yourself and your life!

You don't have to go to the gym to lose weight. You just need to eat less (in a moderate calorie deficit).

I understand how you feel. When i started 2 1/2 ears ago, I felt horrible most days, but I knew I HAD to make changes and I WANTED o make changes. Exercise is impotant to your overall health and does assist in weight losss. Sounds like doc recommends you exercise, so it's unfortunate people here are telling you not to. Even when you don't feel great, can you do SOMETHING? At least walk? Go in for a light work out?

I was diagnosed with diabetes 1 week after I started working with my trainer. it ws very frustrating that I had made the commitment and started taking steps to make myself better then got hit with this. However, I stuck with my plan, and within 3 months of exercise and weight loss the doctor cleared me of diabetes. A few months later I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, and a few months later I had an gangrenous gall bladder that required emergency surgery. through it all I stuck with my nutrition and exercise plan. If I had to skip a day because I felt like crap, I did what I could and got back at it the next day. Now at 61 I've lost 148 pounds and am in the best shape of my life. In a few weeks I'll find out whether the sleep apnea has been cured or improved. My favorite quote : "Small daily improvements lead to staggering long term results."
