"Holiday Inn" (1942) or the remake "White Christmas" (1954).

I haven't seen many movies, from those times!

Christmas story, miracle on 34 street along with watching Rudolph the red nose reindeer and santa Clause with my grandson.

I've always meant to watch: Miracle on 34th Street, possibly I'll have the time; this season!

National Lampoons or Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

Planes, Trains & Automobiles, seems like a longer version of the airport scene with John Candy; in the 1st Home Alone movie!

The best's definitely: Christmas in Conway!

For quirkiness, artistry, and/or LOLs, Tokyo Godfathers, The Dead, Pieces of April (though it's really a Thanksgiving movie), Bad Santa, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

For classics, It's a Wonderful Life, Holiday Inn, White Christmas, A Christmas Story, Christmas in Connecticut.

Haven't seen but like to: Rare Exports, A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas.

Cool thread idea, OP. I wait until after Thanksgiving (one holiday at a time) but I'm really into it. I've got a text-file list of personal traditional things I like to do (walks to see holiday things, music, reading, and shows to watch) so I don't forget.

Most of the video is old TV specials: the Peanuts stuff, the Rankin-Bass ones, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas are all great shorts.

The Waltons: Homecoming - A Christmas Story was the show's pilot from 1971 and really good.

For movie-length things, I like these a lot: The Nativity Story, Muppet Family Christmas, and The Polar Express.
The Muppet Christmas Carol is really good too. Probably my favorite version of ACC.

For music, I also watch video performances of The Nutcracker, Handel's Messiah, and Bach's Christmas Oratorio.
On the pop side, on Youtube there are old TV specials from the 1970s and before that I like a lot: Frank Sinatra, The Carpenters, Perry Como, etc.

Anyways, that's Christmas. For Halloween, in the month of October I watch tons of horror stuff. But I'm coming up pretty dry for Thanksgiving shows. Any ideas?

Thanksgiving movie - Home for the Holidays (1995)

Christmas - Deck the Halls was cute. Christmas decoration (rivalry) gone way too far. Danny DeVito.

Danny DeVito's my favorite, comedic actor & this is my 2nd favorite, Christmas movie! Hallmark Channel had something similar: Battle of the Bulbs, with Daniel Stern (1 of the home burglars, from the 1st 2; Home Alone movies); it's mediocre IMO!

Both classics simply to see & hear Bing Crosby sing "White Christmas" - - an iconic Xmas song written by Irving Berlin that Crosby made his own.

They are available for rental on Netflix; not sure about streaming.

Nightmare Before Christmas. I feel this is not a Halloween movie at all. Also... Die Hard... Right?

I have Netflix, so I'll see what's available but I doubt that, many Christmas movies'll be available; until December!
