Saturated Fat Recommendations

I use MFP to track my saturated fat intake. The American Heart Association recommends no more than about 16 grams of fat for a 2000 calorie diet. MFP sets my goal at 29 grams. Does anyone know why MFP sets the limit so much higher?

US Dietary Guidelines have sat fat at less than 10% of calories per day, which is what MFP seems to use.* AHA is lower, as you noticed--5-6% as a limit.
*At least, that's what it is for me, and I didn't change the default. That would be about 22 g for 2000 calories and 29 g for 2600 calories.0
