Taking steps to a healthier life!

Hi guys!
My name is Tabata and my weight is 297.6 lbs. I've used the MFP before and I didn't take too seriously and ended up not losing weight, I even gained a little more weight. This time, I'm taking things much more seriously. I went to the doctor and I'm having to do several tests to see the condition of my health and what I can do to improve it. Until the test results arrive, the doctor wants to wait to suggest anything more drastic. Meanwhile, he suggested some general changes in my diet and I managed to lose almost 6 lbs in the last couple of weeks.
My family has been helping me a lot in this process, although I like the support of them I would like to make friends with people who, like me, are discovering their healthier versions. I hope to share experiences and be able to motivate as much as being motivated by others. The goal is to stay healthy, I do not care if it takes 6 months or 2 years!
Anyway, thanks for reading all this and I hope you reach each and every goal you have for yourself. Good luck and let's get to work!

Hello Tabata,
I'm Jennie, my daughter made my account I would not have had the confidence in myself to do name it that. Anyway it seems we have some other things in common. I too have many health issues and my weight is a yo-yo. My nutritionist has given me three menu samples 2000, 1800, and 1000, calorie a day meals for 2 weeks each. 1 desert a week. I was pretty dedicated to it and was loosing then I was walking 30 min a wk and climbing my stairs 15 min daily. But I quit walking unless it was an errand to Walmart or grocery or dinner as long as I could or when I could. Lots of drama in my life and I hate drama! I have seizures and I'm diabetic, lupus, fibro, major depressive disorder, insomnia, sciatica, severe arthritis, torn rotator cuff, etc, etc, etc. as well as allergies to foods and meds, and yesterday my rhumetologist diagnosed reynauds disease. He said exercise is too strenuous for me at the moment. I could tear my muscles they are so tight!, so he just wants me to do the stretches and then he will tell me when to resume exercises. My instincts were right. He wants me to stretch 15 minutes a day he gave me 3 moves 10 reps to do. And a cortisone shot in my shoulder. So now I have to work on this 1000 calorie diet and stretching and menu plan around around my allergies and still manage high protein, low sodium, and sugar. I will be happy to share any knowledge I have or ask my nutritionist anything wish. I'm a great listener , however I may not remember lol sorry comes with illnesses and meds. I love to encourage others. I on the otherhand need encouragement too!!0 -
Hi Jennie, thank you for your support! I just sent you a friend request. The most important in all this is to find the best way to become healthier in general.
Until the results of all my tests come out, my doctor did not suggest anything as drastic as 1000 calories per day. For now, I have to consume 1800-2000 calories a day and in the last few weeks this has helped me lose weight.0
