Needing advice

I am new to posting anything here and I hope to get some good advice from those who have been where I am now. (Disclaimer - if you post something negative or rude and if I am able to, your post will be removed).
I recently began my healthy life style journey, but I find myself being scared of losing weight and changing since I have been over weight nearly my entire 35 year life. It is all I know. If you have been there and were successful and becoming a better you, what kind of advice do you have?

It's worth it - it's worth everything you can throw at it.
One day at a time, make small changes.1 -
You're certainly not alone in your fear of change, even if it is for the better. Read through the success threads and you'll see how people dealt with it or are learning to deal with it. It's a process and it takes time, but getting healthy is always worth it, as @cmriverside noted.
You can't remove other people's posts, though. This is the internet. You'll receive whatever responses people choose to give. Just disregard any posts you don't like.2 -

Change is stressful. Good changes are eustress negative changes are distress but it is all stress. I would say you should cut yourself some slack and work on accepting that anxiety about this is normal and probably not harmful unless you let it stop you from acting.
It sounds like being overweight is part of your self-image. Be aware that your self-image may not alter as quickly as your body. They will eventually sync up again.
You may lose friends if you change your life so that you no longer do the things you used to do together. You may have to work to find new ways to interact.
Family and friends also have a mental image of you. As you diverge from that you may get pressure to conform to what they're used to. If you persevere their mental images will eventually sync as well.
It can be hard, but I feel the benefits are worth it.1 -
Don't be scared- you will love it! I've been thin and I've been heavy and believe me things are all around better when you lose the weight. It's ridiculously easy to find clothes that fit and look good, it's easier to exercise & be active, you'll feel more comfortable, have more confidence, people will even be nicer to you and you'll get flirted with more... I honestly can't think of anything I didn't like about being thinner- maybe sitting in chairs for a long time is a little uncomfortable (because of less natural padding)? That's about it.
