Homemade Gym Equipment

I am a massive bargain-hunter, and I hate spending more than I have to for anything - but I love thinking laterally and having a few projects to get on with.

I have already posted about my homemade foam roller:
Length of PVC pipe, covered in old hiking mat or thick yoga mat, lots of duct tape = supercheap foam roller. Make a couple in different sizes for all the different muscles. Awesome.

In the past I have made good use of resistance bands made with bicycle inner tubes.

What gym equipment do you have that you bodged together yourself for fun, or to save money?
