hi everyone
i have had a bit of a difficult time these past few months, after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism and gaining 11lbs in like 2-3 weeks!.. ive been trying to manage the weight gain whilst finding my optimal levels on my meds. however from gaining most weeks i developed a really bad anxiety when weighing, it got to the point of me having the dreaded feeling the night before - to waking up in fear of the scales and what they will say, i ended up getting so bad that i started shaking when standing on them scales as i just did not want them to go up yet again.
so i decided to take a step back and try to chill myself out, and i havent weighed in 2 weeks - i had a couple slip ups and i decided to reintroduce exercise back into my life ( after being told not to do anything strenuous as it depletes T3)
so i have been walking more and then on Mondays i did body combat which i loved before and oh how i missed that!
anyway so today came and whilst i still have the fear and the anxiety i stepped on and just thought right whatever they say i can handle it. it showed a 1.5lbs loss - not loads in many peoples eyes over a 2 weeks period however it meant the world to me, as ive been told not to expect any losses now i have a whacky thyroid. so im happy with that.
so from now on, 2 weeks weigh in i think and carry on eating to calories and exercising, i think 2 weeks gives my body more of a chance to let go.
thanks for reading

Aww...good for you. You are a Champ. Thyroid issues are such a pain, well done for overcoming so many obstacles and keep on looking after yourself as you have and I am sure you will achieve all you set out to do.2

Keep up with the positivity! Stress only worsens anyone's condition, so do your best at avoiding it. Wish you best of luck!0

If you gained 11lbs in 2-3 weeks it is likely that it is mainly water weight unless you consumed 2750 over your TDEE everyday.0

Aww good for you. Its difficult when you have thyroid issues, but it takes time to get meds straight and then to handle calories in/out. Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged.0

nope i can safely say that it was the begining of august that happened ( before i knew about my thyroid dying) and i still am holding 8lbs of it.
i remember like it was yesterday i was on 1400 cals a week, i gained 8lbs 1 weeks and 3lbs the next it floored me, its what made me go drs, as i knew what i was putting in my mouth1
