Asking a question to people who get massages on a regular basis.
just recently while on a Cruise by Carnival I visited the Spa area. Did a massage for the first time ever. Of course it was professional, lol
Anyways the one I had done was a deep tissue full body with the focus on neck, shoulders, back. I often would get knots there. usually i do a daily stretches which helps, but always comes and goes. I dont think i really have any health issues, just daily stuff. as i do spend time at a computer.

Now after doing this service. IT was amazing. All knots cleared up and i have not had any stiffness or anything in almost 2 weeks. Amazing. I know it will come back again eventually. but it was a great experience, almost better then what i am able to do myself

Now question is. I feel i might and should i consider doing this massage thing on a regular basis.
What would you recommend and how often to get one done? once a month good? or should i do once a week? i know it can be pricey? but maybe insurance can cover on this.
I am in Ontario, Canada. What should I look for when choosing a professional massage person?
I think all i need is a massage person vs Chiro. of course.

More less on neck and shoulders , back but also being athletic, cyclists everywhere else is probably good idea as well.

How often do any of you do a massage service?
any feedback on this as well
this is coming from a male of course, since i said it was my first time in a Spa on a cruiseship
Thanks

If I could afford it I'd have on every week... usually try for every couple of months... I love a full body massage.

Shop around till you find somewhere you like, in my experience everyone does it slightly differently.

i live in a city that has more than one massage school. so i'm chintzy because practicum prices are cheaper and that means more frequent massage.

Once a month it's what's typically recommended but if you can afford it I'd definitely suggest going more frequently. I agree with @TavistockToad, try different therapists. Each one has something unique to offer; find the one that's right for you. I prefer therapists practicing independently or in a medical setting over the salon/spa atmosphere.
