Eating smart when out and about

Hello, pals of myfitness, I have a question for you. When I am out and about and hungry I find places to eat (mostly Panera or maybbbeee subway), but I am having a hard time finding places that are nutritious, fast, and possibly low carb/high protein.

Where do you all suggest I go to get some food when on the go?

I'm partial to Qdoba and Jimmy John's when I'm looking for something fast, easy, and somewhat healthy. But of course they both come with high sodium levels, so I dunno if that would be what you're looking for *shrugs*

Pretty much everywhere now days is being pressured to have healthy options on the menu, especially on the kids menu. Just talk to whoever takes your order there should be nutrition information available and if not ask what is on the "kids fresh fit" program it has to be under 500 calories and low in fats and sodium. I like taco bell I eat 2 hard tacos it's 400 calories and pretty well rounded.

I carry my own. I take a small cooler packed with a can of chicken, a Ziploc with crispbread, and either an orange or a banana. Foods that require more prep (like salads) I have at home.
The nice thing about a cooler is that it can be tailored to suit.
  • High end steak places and sushi. French restaurants if i want mussels.

I carry a box of plastic spoons and a can opener in my car for situations just like that. I typically hit the grocery store and grab a can of tuna or sardines and a small apple. Works for me.
