I'm not a vegetarian, but I bought some of these on a whim and didn't really study the long list of ingredients. Do products such as this fit into what is considered "clean eating"? https://gardein.com/products/meatless-meatballs/

Every clean eater seems to have a different definition so it's hard to give a blanket answer.

That said, many "clean eaters" would reject this product because it isn't made from whole foods or because it is processed or because it has more than 3-5 ingredients.

But are those guidelines meaningful for you? There's really no point in following someone else's rule for eating unless it is helping you meet your goals.

Agree with the other poster...'clean eating' is subjective to the individual....I am also vegetarian so I don't consider eating dead animals 'clean eating' - but I eat gardein products sometimes just not alot since they can be pricey. That being said, I don't like cook for an hour after work so I like them because they are quick. I would suggest you try eating some tofu, tempeh or seitan if you want foods with less ingredients.

So typically anything in a box or long list of ingredients would not be considered clean. This is processed vegetarian foods. You can however make this at home and it would be considered clean. If you are eating clean typically you would focus on outside isles with fruits and vegetables grass fed meats antibiotic free etc. generally the idea is you are making all your foods. Etc. but you could go minimally processed if you can't have the time to cook. Look for things without preservatives and only a few ingredients

Thanks everyone. The meatless meatballs were a huge bust--everyone, myself included, hated them. Will come up with some new ideas for meatless mondays.

Try making foods you already like that are meatless for meatless Monday like pasta primavera, beans burritos, enchiladas, taquitos, etc. when you start relying on faux meat replacements it gets weird.
