McD's shamrock shakes!
But seriously, I hate green smoothies. Never taste right to me, I'd rather eat a spinach salad.3 -
Heh.
I don't really care about the color of my smoothies, but I've had some good green ones. I'd say play around with what you like, as what you enjoy will be different than someone else.
On Saturday I enjoyed one made of half an avocado, lots of spinach, butternut squash (cooked in advance), some skim milk, protein powder, and some frozen strawberries. I have tons of different recipes and like playing around with combinations, though, and many of mine (I love green pepper in them, and beets) may not appeal to others.1 -

Spirulina.
2 tsp Spirulina
245g Plain Greek Yoghurt
75g Fresh mixed berries/frozen berries for a smoothie.
240 mls Almond milk
7.1g honey (adjust to your preference)

I have never had green beer, but have heard good things.
I make smoothies with spinach base and protein powder. I tends to look green. For me, it tastes good (usually, sometimes I make a bad combination) and keeps me full for a couple hours for a few less calories as breakfast would be. Spinach, protein powder, fruit of some type, flax seed, water (or tea, or coconut water, or tomato juice). That's it.1 -

I could never bring myself to try green beer. The color just put me off.
Other green things I'd recommend against drinking: water from the Chicago River, even on St. Patrick's Day

I do spinach, kale, almond milk, berries, and flax seeds these days. If I want more calories I add a half an avocado.0

That is stunning! Must be what they add to Mountain Dew.3 -
I like using baby spinach as my smoothie base, then adding a banana, frozen or fresh mango, almonds, and chia seeds.
It's also the perfect base to add in other yellow or green fruit and veg (as they won't discolour it- don't add berries unless you like a murky brown). I love adding things like pineapple, kiwis, and avocado!
If you still need more protein, you could try something like a plain pea protein powder. I personally don't use any protein powders but I know some people need then if they're lifting etc1 -

I get that everyone is having some fun with green drinks here, but telling someone to drink antifreeze crosses a line, imo.1 -

That's the benefit of strawberries -- they don't mess up the color.
Of course, I've resigned myself to not minding a less appealing color sometimes, since I like all berries, especially blueberries. Or going with red and using beets and raspberries or cherries. The greens don't screw up the color of those.1 -

The different colours have never fazed me either. I love adding blueberries, even occasionally some cocoa powder. The colour is not appealing, but the taste!1
