Feeling extremely guilty!

Uni is coming to a close for this year, that means I'll be going back home for the summer. Which means not seeing most of my friends and my boyfriend for 3 months.

Because of that, we've been eating out a lot, which means a lot of calories. I gave up calorie logging on Sunday because I know I went over 3000 calories (the injectible donut was so good!) and I'll be going out to Nando's for dinner. I tried to accomodate by having below 300-calorie meals for breakfast and lunch, but after prelogging dinner, it's still way over anyways! There's still cake after that too because it's a friend's birthday!

I know it's just two days, I've also been consistenly on my calorie goals everyday. I'm not asking for advice and suggestions, I do want to eat that Nando's because I want to relish my last few days with my friends. Just been feeling guilty and wanted to let it out somewhere :(

This I where you have to be strict with yourself. Eating Nandos is wine but are they forcing you to eat the cake? Just keep your portions small. There's this pic floating around and I can relate where it says.... 5 minutes of pleasure followed by hours of guilt when eating something bad and it took me a while but I always try and think if of the food I eat and what it will contribute. I love my food buy throwing away progress hurts the most. Anyway.... Enjoy the time but maybe just take smaller portions, half 'n cake slice... Share the chips with a friend, take grilled chicken. Etc

If you know you are going to break your calorie goals, accept that. It's no fun enjoying a delicious meal if you're thinking about how every bite is working against you. Other than that, get into the gym! If you're going to take in more calories, you can make up for it with more cardio. Simple as that.

If you are consistently eating at goal, then enjoy your couple days with friends but try to stay close to maintenance calories (TDEE) when off plan. That way you can join in, but it will just cause a temporary stall and not a gain.

It all depends on your personal goals and how long you realistically want it to take to get there. Continue logging even on your splurges. If you know you have to face the numbers you will be more likely to eat less when you are logging and keeping accountable. No need to feel guilty if this is a conscious choice to spend a couple days celebrating with friends.

    It's 2 days.

Take those 2 days as a diet break, and then get back into it again immediately after.

Oh ... and exercise more if you can fit it in. Go for a long walk with your boyfriend or something.

2 days will not have any negative effects in the long run.
