Hi everyone! My name's Jessica and I'm new to meal prepping, MyFitnessPal, and overall healthy living in general! I did my first meal prep for four days worth of lunch and dinners yesterday, and I was wondering if any more experiences meal preppers have any tips for a beginner, or some great recipes!

Thanks!
Jessica :)

I've been meal prepping/freezer cooking for over 8 years. I mainly cook one pot dishes, portion, freeze. Some individual food items are flash frozen (nuggets, burritos, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, sausage patties, stuffed peppers, cut casseroles, meatballs, anything in muffin tins, blanched veggies, fruit, grains, etc) by freezing the food directly on a metal baking sheet and then transferring into a freezer bag. Other things I freeze in large jars (marinara, enchilada, bolognese, BBQ) or in ice cube trays (sofrito, oil w/herbs, pesto) before transferring to a freezer bag.

I've saved money, saved time, saved calories and my family has a healthy homemade meal at their disposal no matter what.

One I am learning is to buy frozen, chopped onions in the frozen veggie aisle or chop/freeze them yourself. I love onions in stuff, but boy is it a pain to prep them at mealtime. They add a ton of flavor with very few calories.

Hi, welcome! My favorite recipes are from Skinnytaste.com. I tend to freeze things too. If I"m making a recipe that I know I love, I'll simply make two and freeze the second one. Then I have lunch or dinner for two weeks and I get a week off of meal prepping in between. Meal planning and prepping can become tedious after a while, but for me, it is completely necessary to meet and keep my goals.
