Losing bodyfat%

Been trying to lose some bodyfat! What is the best way to do this so I can start doing what I really want...! Build muscle. Any suggestions appreciated!! Also looking for friends who lift to offer tips & motivation!!

As stated by the two posters above be sure to train. When you lose weight you will lose both muscle and fat but lifting can really help maintain your muscle while you lose fat. Body recomp is also a possible solution but it is very slow going compared to a normal weight loss diet.
