Sugar Intake?

So i heard one should not consumer more than 30g sugar per day...
I haven't eaten anything other than breakfast and post workout meal with 1 banana and i already exceeded 30g... wtf? is it logical?
Plus i changed my goals on the pc but they're still the same on my phone... anybody knows how to fix this?

It depends if it natural or refined sugars.0

The MFP sugar goal is for added sugar (and is around the 30g you mentioned). There is no standard for natural sugar, such as exists in fruits. MFP does not distinguish in food info between natural and added sugar, so it can get confusing. Many people ignore the sugar tracker, particularly if there is no medical need to watch sugar. As for updating your phone, when you resync to the website, it should update you phone. You could try powering off and back on. That usually resets the connections between the hardware and the software.0

Did you have cereal? Some are packed with sugar. Also about half the carbs in a banana come from sugar in the form of Fructose. Sugar is sugar and the body treats it the same way regardless of source. Fruits are still good alternatives to other snack foods as they contain vitamins and fibre but if you want to limit your sugar intake then watch how much you eat and eat more veg.
Some people don't count sugar from fruits and just monitor overall carbs, others do count fruit sugar (me included). Sugar from fruits is bound up with fibre so is released more slowly but is still sugar.
At the end of the day a piece of fruit is better than a bar of chocolate and it's up to you how you eat.0
