I just want to know even if i add and hour work out two times a week that still classifies me as sedentary id like to move up to lightly active because of the 400 calorie difference in the average day of person. Would taking a certain amount steps help or adding a small 15 minute work out help?

You can add your deliberate exercise to MFP and eat the calories back. Perhaps only eat back half of the calories they tell you, as they are known to overestimate.

Walk more everyday to get to the lightly active mark.

    Do you have a pedometer?

Here's an idea for the number of steps

There are activity trackers & applications that sync to MFP. That means they take your stated activity level and compare it against your actual activity....then credit you for the difference. Fit Bit is an example.

Activity setting has nothing to do with your deliberate exercise, it reflects your job and lifestyle.

If you want to move to lightly active ... get a retail job.

As you would have read when you set up your goals:

How would you describe your normal daily activities?
Sedentary: Spend most of the day sitting (e.g. bank teller, desk job)
Lightly Active: Spend a good part of the day on your feet (e.g. teacher, salesman)
Active: Spend a good part of the day doing some physical activity (e.g. waitress, mailman)
Very Active: Spend most of the day doing heavy physical activity (e.g. bike messenger, carpenter)
