Did I lose weight too fast?

Hi, I just started a 1200 diet a week ago and I already lost 3 kilograms (6.5lbs). my usual weight is 72 but on the first day of the diet I weighed 73 (160lbs), so I understand the first one came off really easily but I'm a bit worried it might not be fat I'm loosing at this rate...? Any advice? Is it the water maybe? Or is it just normal in the beginning of a diet?

    The first week is usually a big drop related to water weight. Some of that will be fat, but most of it is water. It should slow in the next week or two.

    Your suspicion is correct. It was water weight!

    I lost 13 pounds of water weight after eating bad for a week. The next week I went from 243 to 230 in one week and all of it was water related. So tuck in for the ups and downs. It happens.
