New to reactive hypoglycemia and need to lose 15 lbs.

I continue to fail at controlling my hypoglycemia. Such confusion about food plans, one is complex carbohydrates only, other heavy in protein. Nutritionist don't seem to agree. I removed all added sugar from diet in May, started an exercise program created by a trainer and kep to it all summer and now everything is falling apart and I never did figure out how to eat this summer. Just tried to eat healthy. I am a healthy, youthful 72 years old, weigh 157 and am 5'3" andneed to get to around 140. The plan gives me 1410 calories. Know I wrote too much , really need help with planning eating times. Any experience welcome?
