I have been going to the gym since April and started with the treadmill and the strength training circuit 3 to 4x a week. Long story short at my weight (300 lbs) the treadmill ok and the weight was killing my knees and ankles so started getting cardio through the bike. Fast forward to Monday and I've decided I'm getting bored sooooo now I'm riding bike 10 min before and after my "gym workout". I watched videos and found things I thought looked fun like rope slams, trx squats and pull ups and lunges and push ups, and what i think are dead lifts with a kettle bell and kettle bell swings, curls, and I think that's it. Now mind you I can only do 1 set of each of these and I do the rope slams in between each new exercise. I can eek out about 10 reps. But I wonder is this enough? I want to be healthy and I want to be able to enjoy life instead of watching it pass by. Sure I have enjoyed the weight loss that's I've seen but is what I'm doing enough that i will continue to breath easier and have less joint pain and or will I end up stalling out because I don't want to go back to where I was ever again!

Thanks!

Do what you can and increase it when you can, and you will keep progressing. I could barely lift the rope when I started 2 1/2 yr ago at 300 lbs. Now I can match or outperform many who've Been at it longer. As you lose weight and gain strength, the joint pain should decrease, mine has disappeared almost completely. Also walk as much as you can!

Thanks so much! I have a few chronic medical issues that make walking impossible at times but hopefully as the weight comes off I can start walking again! Very glad to know the pain decreased as the weigh came off!
