I currently can only work out from home. have an elliptical and some weights.

How long of cardio and strength training should i do?
What im planning to do is 20 mins cardio and 30-45mins strength. ( either with youtube vids, etc..) Or is there a better suggestion for me to do

You didn't state your goal or your activity level, but assuming you have the typical goal of fat loss or general fitness, and a relatively sedentary lifestyle, then yes, that should be fine. A common schedule that works is to do full-body strength training every 2-3 days, and cardio on non-lifting day. For cardio, try 30 minutes of challenging intervals. For strength, follow a proven program for best results.

If you need more help, state your goal(s) & activity level. :+1:

I have about the same set-up. My philosophy is to do cardio to save my heart and weights to save my mobility. I used the CDC guidelines and exrx.net as models. I do 5 40-minute cardio sessions a week and 3 short (10 - 15 minutes) weight sessions a week. I feel great and I don't feel like I've let the gym take over my life.
