Alternatives to Beans

Background:
I love beans, black beans are a main stay of my lunch for their balance of protein and fat, but their fiber is proving to be a little rough on the lower digestive tract.
Question:
Any suggestions on an alternative to beans? Maybe something very low in fiber with some good protein.
Alternatively any suggestions on how to make beans easier on the lower GI tract?
Thanks.

I don't know how to make them easier to digest. If fiber is the problem, I'm not sure there is anything that will make them low fiber. If you're looking for low fiber high protein, how about meat, eggs?
Did you increase your fiber intake suddenly or are you having a new discomfort with the same diet?1 -

My typical lunch is fish, veggie sausage, beans, vegetable...I typically keep this meal lean to keep macros in check for the day (fat creeps up fast if I am not careful). I love eggs and do incorporate for breakfast, but this is my more lean meal.
Revised diets in September, I keep hoping for improvement without much success.1 -

@queenliz99 I wish the problem was gas...I would be as happy as a baby.0

It seems like 2 months would be long enough to adjust. My only other thoughts are: are you getting enough (1) fat & (2) water with your high fiber meals? Beano is new to me but looks promising if you don't mind taking something often. I feel for you, OP. I eat legumes every day, too, and would miss them a lot if I had to stop. Good luck!0

You could try fermented bean products like tempeh (delicious) or natto (delicious in my opinion but some people hate it).
Fermented versions of things that give you gut issues can sometimes result in less negative digestive effects2 -
Cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, meat, eggs, tofu2

Possibly even a different type of bean lower in fiber or maybe edamame, not sure how much fiber it has. Perhaps a smaller portion of beans mixed with something else such as tomatoes and peppers, maybe even some ground meat mixed in. Of course, as already mentioned, there is meat, eggs, Greek yogurt...0

Fat is not a problem if it doesn't take you over your calories. Consider eating more fat if that makes things easier. (It did for me.)0

Edamame. I can't eat beans for the same reason and swap it for edamame.0
