Need to start up some kind of routine for exercise.

I have been down this road many times. Never stayed with anything. I want to do some activity and be committed to. I do walk 30 min but not every day. What is best cardio, strength training etc. I am 62 and a good 40 pounds overweight.

    The best exercise is the one you enjoy and want to keep doing. That's more important than the specific type of exercise. What you choose will also depend on your abilities. You could alternate walking days with biking, swimming, video workout, fitness class, etc. Maybe you need to mix it up to keep yourself interested. I'm 61, lost 148 lbs, and walk, run, swim, TRX, weights, and did fitness classes before my trainer closed his studio last week.
