On exercise restriction

Hi,
So I have been on an exercise restriction from my surgeon since February this year...l I have a Labral hip tear and an extensive hip bursitis.... both on right side. I'm not allowed to cycle/ gym or vigorous exercise classes so I have been walking mainly with my dog about 1-2 miles a day. It's quite frustrating..... anyone else in a similar situation? Or any useful tips?
