You Know What It’s Gonna Take?

Whatever it takes, that’s what it’s gonna take. Whatever goal you have, say it’s fitness, business, spiritual or relationships.

For you to get to your goal it’s going to take, whatever it takes. You’ll have an idea that you want to do something, just know that the obstacles, resistance and stress will all be there when you’re in the process of it. But winners keep going, they fight through and move past the obstacles. They don’t quit.

You have to be the guy or gal who just won’t give up, won’t quit, won’t surrender to your dream. You have to be willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it. You’re not stopping until you find that sweet spot in your business, health, relationship (etc)... And after you do that, you go for even more.

It takes courage to go after your dreams when you could have given up on the first turn. Start building your persistence muscle because you are going to need to be obsessed with it if you want to do something new from scratch.

Let’s take your body for example, let’s say you wake up today and go, “I’m done being mediocre. My end date is X and I am going to achieve the ideal body I’ve always envisioned.” That’s awesome that you said that to yourself and you should definitely go for it. But do you quit when the going gets hard? When the first obstacle comes up? “Oh, well they brought in donuts at work so I had to eat one,” or “Oh, it was little Jimmy’s birthday party and they had cake,” or “She made me eat this,” ...no one made you eat anything.

The end result is all that matters, NOT the process that gets you there. If you can really drive that into your brain you won’t mind eating the more plain tasting food often because you KNOW that this is what is getting you to your goal and you are doing whatever it takes to see it through.

Most of us, especially if you’re using myfitnesspal pretty much know what they need to do to lose weight. Calculate your total daily energy expenditure (which myfitnesspal does) and then set your goal for how many pounds you want to lose each week and then stay in that calorie deficit.

And STAY in that deficit for long periods of time. This is the only way to truly burn fat. I know there’s all the hype about “cheat days” and “shocking the system” but that’s really people justifying cheat days because they want to eat pizza, candy and cake (I know there’s science behind it but the science doesn’t say eat everything you want, you should increase your calorie intake for a day with healthy foods, not eat junk food for a whole day).

Anyways, I hope this helps. Anything worthwhile in this life is going to take loads of persistence, discipline, perseverance, and consistency. Make a commitment today, right now and say, “I’m done being mediocre, the end result is all that matters.” Be prepared for resistance and obstacles and see it through until the end.

Stay strong,

Joey K.
