I have tried to lose a little bit of weight for quite some time, without much success. Then my buddy told me about this website and I joined him on it. I started in April and have lost 32 pounds... and as of today I am 1 pound BELOW my goal! I put in a lot of work to get where I am, but MFP really helped and made it easy to track the calories in and out.

I don't have many before pictures, and I hid my extra weight pretty well so most of them don't show a real difference, but I did find this one:

This is a picture I took a few moments ago:

Since joining MFP, I've worked out for at least 45 mins a day and many times I've surpassed that by quite a bit. Every day was either a 8-13 mile bike ride (did 30 miles one day) on the road, 10-15 mile ride on offroad trails, or 45 mins to an hour on the elliptical. I may still lose a few more pounds, but I'll be going into maintenance mode for a bit (will still be working out everyday) until I start P90X at the end of the month.

I should probably add some more stats. I went from a 36.5 inch waist to 31 inches... 5.5 inches!! My neck went from 15.5 inches to 14.25.

    Way to go!

This is motivational for a guy like me who is a few years older than you and has more to lose. I've got 30 to go RIGHT NOW and plenty of inches to lose. I think my frame is larger than yours so I'll never be your size... but I'll be healthy and am getting healthier every day!

Getting healthy is all that matters. Keep it up, and you'll be there before you know it!

Thanks! I started on here just to try it out too. Just stick with it and before you know it you will be 10 lbs down and wonder where the time went. After that it's all about maintaining what you've already done and the rest will come more easily.

You had like 30 pounds to lose? Where?! Lol. You look great. Good job! Btw, you remind me of Neil Patrick Harris, hahaha.

I think you should workout in whatever way is most fun for you: walking/running, biking, elliptical. Keep very close track of your calories in and watch your salt intake. There will always be some fluctuation, don't let it get you down!
  • Wow,congrats! You must have hid the weight really, really well cause you did not look overweight in the first pic at all:wink:
