Are you talking about the number at the top of your home page? It turns red when you've gone over your allotted calories for the day, as a way of reminding you to stay on track. Don't panic about it, but don't let exceeding it by more than a little become a common thing either if you want to lose weight. :)

(On the other hand, if you're always going over by a lot because you're always hungry, try reassessing your goals and consider losing more slowly so that you can eat more!)

If your numbers are red it means you went over the allowance in that category. Green are the amounts you still have left. My sodium is chronically red.

Ah, true, I forgot they turn red on the diary page as well! :) (I never worry about the individual numbers, personally, although I might have to get more into it at some point.)
