Sodium & Sugar

I've been trying to lose weight for awhile now. I lost almost 22 kg 4 years ago, but couldn't lose more since then.
Last month I started to watch my eating calories, so hopefully I can lose some weight. But I realized that my food diaries have big numbers on sodium and sugar which can prevent losing weight, sometimes.
Is there anyone has the same issue?

They wont prevent weight loss...Sodium can make you retain more water weight but it wont stop you losing weight. And sugars just more calories as long as your under your calorie allowence they shouldn't effect your loss3

They might not "prevent" losing the weight as much they can slow the result from showing.0

Well, yes, although if this is your standard diet, over time you'll continue to lose fat so even with the water retention from the sodium, it's not like the fat loss won't show.
I hope that made sense. So for example...perhaps you react to your particular average amount of daily sodium with, let's say, three pounds of water weight.
If you lose a pound that week, you should still show a pound down, because you're not keeping *more* water than before. (All other things being equal.)
Does that make sense? I'm not sure I'm explaining this correctly.
With all that said: I am a salt fiend...my parents used to joke that they were going to get me a salt lick for my place at the dinner table. I literally used to salt Cup O' Noodles soup. I salted my Chinese takeout. I still love salt, and I do eat sugar. I have lost 50 lbs. in the past year. If I'm "bloated" from the salt, the fat is still being lost underneath that "bloating," the bloating isn't increasing or anything.1 -

But that doesn't really matter. Over time, when you are patient, results will show. And having patience is just as important as doing the right things.1
