My doctor introduced me to this site. I am not engaged and motived. I really need friends that are willing to lend me lots of good energy to get me going. I have to lose 40 to 50 pounds. I have a lot of health issues which saddens me. I live alone. I am having a real challenge beginning... I am looking forward to meeting, learning and creating a family, here. Thank you. Verna

    Welcome. I say, just start logging your food as accurately as possible - don't try to overhaul your entire life in a week. It takes time to make changes.

    If you can give up something that is high calorie and low on nutrition, try that. Like soda pop or alcohol or carby treats like cookies or pretzels.

    Every day at the end of the day look at and study your food diary here and start to think about ways to cut calories here and there.

    Small changes when you can. Sometimes it's two steps forward and one step back, and that's okay. Just don't sit down and stay down on that one step back. :wink:

    Hello Verna, I too have health issues which really interferes with my everyday life. I figured if at least I can monitor my food intake and get support in the mean time will somewhat help me to get my motivation going as being unwell has really effected that. It's a start in the right direction.. I wish you all the best in your journey.
