    Lots of animals eat the placenta to prevent predators from smelling/eating the newborns.

    I think rats in general are gross...nothing to do with them eating their placenta.

    I've actually considered getting one for a pet. The fact that my wife's bishon/poodle mix would die of a heart attack keeps me from doing it lol.
