How much of a calorie deficit can you show and continue to lose weight. My calorie deficit is 800-1200 a day. Am I in starvation mode?? I eat 1000 can a day and do at least 1 hour cardio or strength training a day. I am 3 months post Bariattric surgery. So my protein is 100-120.

Hi! Congrats on getting started!
There are lots of very knowledgeable people here who will provide solid advice.
I think your deficit is quite aggressive and would fear that it's not sustainable - you'll end up with no energy physically and mentally to do this until you've reached your goal weight. I'd set up a smaller deficit, results will be slower but you'll enjoy the process more!0 -
Depends. Youll lose a lot of muscle but i dropped from 225 to 165 in 3 months by eating about 1k calories a day and my maintenance is almost 2500. Definitely not the best way to do it but it gets the job done0

That is an incredibly severe deficit. You can lose weight successfully at a 250-500 calorie deficit. My suggestion. Bump your intake up to 1500 calories a day. That way you'll still be at a 500 calorie deficit, resulting in approximately 4lbs lost a month.
Seriously, your body will take a toll at that high of a deficit. I used to have a 285 squat, but I cut at 750 cals a day coupled with over training, I can barely nail out one at 250. Take it slow and steady, besides. If you lose too fast you will have even more loose skin to deal with my the end of it.0 -
the answer to one of your questions is NO
there is no such thing as starvation mode0 -
What does your bariatric specialist advise? I would think s/he would be the best source of advice for you.0
