Mindset and measuring

Hi all
I have been around for awhile and have really gotten off track. Started with overconfidently "eyeballing" and then portions got out of control. After that I just stopped tracking thinking that I have already lost so much weight (100lbs) that I had it under control. Now the weight is creeping back up and so I am getting my butt in gear again.
Not going obsessive crazy... No set "amount" to lose... But figuring out my calories and tracking again.
It has been awhile tho so I am looking for a refresher about measuring... I have a digital scale... But I do vaguely remember that liquids should be measured in measuring cups or something... Does anyone have any measuring tips?
Thanks in advance

Use your scale for solids, liquid measuring cup for liquids...

Scale for anything solid, measuring cup for liquids, and record every tiny thing. Even the spoonful tasted while cooking or the cookie from the snack table at work.
