broken. need help

Hello all! A little back story, I was 300, lost 100, gained it all back and was just recently trying to get back in the working out game when.... wait for it.... I broke my ankle. Tore it up real good too. Now all I can do is sit, hobble short distances, and eat. Not a good combination for healthy lifestyle.
My question, my plea really, is what can I do to exercise? Swimming would be perfect I suppose, but in the cool winter months I'd rather stay dry. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Take this time to focus on eating and don't worry about exercise? A broken ankle is a tough one. Consider Contrave? I just started it....trying to use it to help me get better eating habits...I am 260, this is the first time I have tried a drug to help. I have failed every other time. An idea.1

Crystal I'm awfully sorry that you're presently stymied with your ankle issue.

Pleased you're disallowing this injury to sabotage your intentions/commitment towards your end goal; Many who've experienced a broken ankle do advise - bed rest/eating at a deficit@weight loss.

Hi Crystal,
Sorry about the broken ankle. As exercise is likely unadvised as this stage, perhaps change focus on the eating part of the weight loss aspect. Use the time to read about dietary topics and figure out if you are willing to develop some new eating habbits/ workon portion control, etc. Ofcourse I know nothing about your lifestyle/health etc, but we musn't forget that constent changes come from a commited mind.

I can't recoimmend physio enough. As soon as you are out of plaster, a good physio can start exercises with you. My husband smashed his ankle in a motorbike accident. As we are in the UK, he was entitled to enough NHS physio sessions to get him walking (about 6 sessions) but it wasn't nearly enough to fix the problems. If I could change one thing in my life, it would be to have paid for a year's physio for him. It's been 10 years and he still feels the effects.
A physio will be able to help you come up with good exercises for you. You can get back to swimming earlier than you think you can, maybe aqua jogging too.0 -
Hi there, I'm so sorry you've had this setback! Please google "sitting exercises" or "chair workouts"...there are many ways to move your body without moving your poor ankle. May I say you should be proud that you lost that first 100 pounds, that's an achievement many people aren't able to own. You can do it again, it will be harder this time, but doable.

I started swimming/aqua jogging (no kicking) very slowly at three weeks after ORIF surgery on my broken ankle. My dr was ok with it. It really wasn't about exercise at that point it was more about be able to move around without weight bearing. It sure felt good to move! Just check with your doctor first!0

She didn't ask anything about diet. She was looking for suggestions for exercise. LCHF isn't the answer to every question. And LCHF doesn't make you lose any more weight than any other diet, with calories held equal.2
