7 oz raw chicken

I'm in college on a meal plan, so I can't weigh my raw food since I'm not the one cooking it. I do weigh it raw when I cook it, but today I can't. I have logged 7oz of raw chicken, how many ounces would that be cooked?

Do you mean you weight it cooked today?
If so, look for cooked chicken entries in the database to find one that is close to the cooking style.

Hard to say depending on how much water it loses

This is a hard one to answer because it depends on the cooking method used. Grilled or baked will dehydrate it more than boiling will.
You record chicken in it's raw state, because that is how it would be on the nutrition label of the product. Cooked weighs less, but it's water, not nutrition, that is usually lost. In the case of chicken, fat from the skin would also be rendered off if you had it skin-on.

7 ounces raw chicken would cook down to about 4-5 ounces, so that would be one serving and 4-5 portions.

No, she said she weighed it raw at 7oz and has cooked it and can't re-weigh it.

Just searched for cooked chicken and log it that way instead of raw.

No, she said she weighed it raw at 7oz and has cooked it and can't re-weigh it.

But she also said she can't weigh it raw because she isn't the one cooking it. I'm confused!

Either way, it's not hard. If you have access to raw chicken weigh it raw and use a "chicken, raw" entry.
If you weigh it cooked, look for a "chicken, cooked" entry.
Cooked is going to be more of an estimate, especially when you aren't doing the cooking, but if that's what you have, then that's what you use.

Cooked chicken and cooked lean pork retain 80% of their weight. If you weigh cooked meat, multiply by 1.2 to find the raw weight. I cook chicken or pork in bulk, then weigh what I need during meal prep.
