How to set my activity level?

I walk quite a bit. I have my goal for 12,000 steps per day and I almost always exceed that. Most of that is on a treadmill though or going outside for a walk. So it is "exercise" meaning MFP gives me extra calories for that (I have my Fitbit synced). If I don't count my exercise then I would probably have 4,000-6,000 steps per day.
Should I set my activity level as "not very active" because the activity that I do have is actually being deducted from my calories?
I hope this makes sense what I am trying to convey LOL

Turn "allow negative calorie adjustments" on, and then pick whatever activity level you want because it won't matter, since you have a tracker linked.
Activity level made sense before there were trackers, and for people who don't have one. It's your best guess, which, obviously, isn't as accurate as a measurement of what you actually did. Since you have that, the system will override your guess with your actual real world data.
For most people it's best to still try to get it as close as possible because the timing of the adjustments can be a little confusing. But at the end of the day, it'll tell you the correct number of calories to eat to meet your goal.2 -
If your Fitbit is synced then your activity level does not matter. The end result will be the same.
Such as lets say your TDEE as sedentary is 2000 but is 2500 as lightly active. And Fitbit says you burn 2700. Assume you are set to lose 1 pound per week...
Option a: sedentary, MFP says to eat 2000 - 500 or 1500, then +700 for Fitbit adjustment because you burned 2700 instead of 2000. 1500 + 700 = 2200
Option b: lightly active MFP says to eat 2500 - 500 or 2000, then +200 for fitbit adjustmetn because you burned 2700 instead of 2500. 2000 + 200 = 2200.I walk quite a bit.
