I know that by pretty basic definition high fat is going to be relatively high calories. I know that. I just want to make sure im properly educated on my options. I generally get stuck between 15-30g of fat a day and i need 40-50.

Since going vegan i struggle to get enough fats in my diet. Im kind of unwilling to just add like olive oil for pointless high calorie fats. Plus I dont like it.

I like peanutbutter but its nowhere near the amount of fat id need without using hundreds of calories on it. Which for something not filling to me like peanut butter is alot of wasted calories.

Does anyone know any filling high fat vegan foods? Preferably things that wont require a full meal plan adjustment to wiggle in :p

How about avocado or nuts? What kind of calorie range are you thinking of and how many grams of fat (roughly)?

Avocado is good, but given that fat = 9 calories per gram, as you've pointed out you can't go high fat without going high calorie. Whether you get 10g of fat in oil, nuts or avocado, it will still be 90 calories worth of fat.

Ironically enough, something like oil will give you the most fat grams at the lowest calories, because you get all the fat and no extras such as protein or carbs. So 10g of fat from oil will cost you 90 calories.

To get 10g of fat out of peanut butter, you're looking at around 130 calories, because its also got carbs and protein.

Yeah im not to worried about calories (within reason) aslong as its somewhat filling to for high fat. Avocados sound great but its winter now i cant imagine theyd be very good from the store right now :p

Nuts sound lovely i am definatly going to look into them i honestly never even considered them lol.

Do your grocery stores have bulk bins? They are generally cheaper from the bulk bins than the packaged varieties on the shelves.

I also agree that oils will have more fats for less calories as there is little to no protein or carbs in them. If you don't like olive oil, try sesame oil with tofu or avocado oil on a salad.

Do you like coconut? Coconut milk (the tinned stuff, not the milk substitute), coconut oil, and coconut manna are favorites of mine. It's almost pure fat, I find it incredibly satisfying, and it can be used in so many ways. I will make soups, sauces, and puddings with coconut milk, use coconut oil to roast/saute vegetables, and coconut manna as a spread on bread or mixed into grains.
