Labral hip injury

So I have been not allowed to do any exercise since febuarary of this year due to a Labral hip tear/ injury. I have been walking about 4 miles a day with my dog and lost half a stone. Yesterday I was told I don't need surgery which is great but I have also been told I can never run/ jog again or do certain exercise classes. I can continue walking, I can do cross trainer and after my 2 nd phase of physio I can get back to the gym in spring of next year. Obviously all of this is very frustrating do I am looking for some extra ways to lose weight/ modify my exercise. I can't start riding my bike till spring. I eventually will be allowed to do squats, and lunges but not at a full 90 degree. So it walking for now and certain abducter exercises with a kg weight on my ankle as per surgeon advice and wait for further physio but I was just wondering if anyone had any long term ideas as to how I can modify my whole exercise plan. I'm not being very creative or still in a bit of a funk from the news

Pool therapy is great! I recommend it to a lot of my patients that are recovering from hip or knee surgery.1
