I have doms from lifting heavy yesterday and today is meant to be a rest day

But my hamstrings ache. Is an hour one walking slow paced ok to do on rest days to loosten up sore muscles?

    i would - instead of rest = doing nothing; think of rest as active recovery (low impact steady state days) - for me after a hard cardio/weight day - I might swim; or do yoga or go for a walk

    I agree with @deannalfisher. When my muscles are particularly sore I like to do a bit of activity the next day and walking is generally my #1 choice. Stretch afterwards, too.

    I have DOMS today too! Hamstrings and glutes are killing me. I was going to wait until Sunday to take a rest day, but opted for today instead. I'm going to stretch it out when I get home and probably do some band work plyos for cardio. Gotta keep those muscles moving, really helps them to feel better

    Already said, but "rest day" doesn't not mean "do nothing" day. It just means no heavy lifting. Yoga, walking, etc is fine and will likely help.
