Hi folks,

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wasn't sure where....

About 8 months ago I had a staff infection crop up, left arm, elbow to wrist. 1.5 months of Ciprofloxacin and the swelling went down (That stuff is worse than the bloody infection) but I still have what feels like "dead" spots and tightness around the elbow. Like something pulling very tight when doing chin ups or curling. The doc says after 2 visits "It's nothing to worry about, maybe just some lesions"

I have full range of motion, and full strength, even making gains. Should I pursue this like I'm inclined to? This is the only time I've dealt with this, so I'm not sure what issues might crop up.

Should I continue exercising as normal? I think that's what I'm concerned the most about right now.

Thanks in advance for answers/suggestions folks

As I understand it, sometimes Cipro causes problems to tendons. Just a heads up.

Oh geez ....the fix possibly worse than the problem? Wow... thanks for the info @queenliz99
"We have seen continuing reports of tendon rupture so we are trying to increase awareness," says Edward Cox, MD, director of the FDA's Office of Antimicrobial Products.

Yes, sometimes the side effects of medications can be as serious as the problems they are meant to treat. Something to keep in mind...ask your doctor

Thanks for the replies. As I stated in the OP, I've been back to the Doc twice. Time for a second opinion I guess.

    Cheers

Why are you exercising a forearm infection? Heal first.

Gains > Anything up to (and including) death.

he said the infection is from 8 months ago, i'm sure its long since healed. We have all had injuries and things happen to our bodies throughout our life but we can still get back to training and making gains. We just go at it with modifications . It would kinda suck if one little injury stopped us from ever working out again. I know lots of people that have had serious muscle injuries, rips , tears, genetic defects, etc and they get back to working out and making gains. I doubt someone will die from working out if they previously had an infection, otherwise we'd all be dead.
