Hello, I am 57 years old and have put on over 30 lbs in the last 5 years. I am hoping with the help of myfitnesspal that I can get back on track to achieve my previous weight. Any suggestions others might have to stay on track is greatly appreciated.

    weight and log everything!

when it comes to food like cereal/oatmeal - go by the g serving size, not the cup measurment they can often differ drastically

Welcome! Write out your goals, read them daily, picture yourself at your ideal weight, buy something you like in a smaller size to motivate you, or check your closet if you have clothes that do not fit, read success stories

Seriously, just being on here really helps me. Weighing and measuring everything, logging everything (even if I go over my limit, at least I'm aware of it) and setting small attainable goals. If I can stick with it, so can you
