Hotel Living with a Fitness Lifestyle (& Dealing with Stress)

Just got word that our "little water issue" is actually a big water issue and resulted in black mold growing in our kitchen, so tonight I'll be packing up myself, my S.O. brother-in-law and our two pups to go stay at a hotel until further notice. The timing is terrible - right before the holidays (that I'm still trying to prep for) and in the middle of my extended hours at work (9AM-7PM M-F plus Sunday!). But I will find a way to deal. Looking forward to the hockey game this weekend and seeing some Christmas lights (and not having to clean my house - tehe!)
I am a terribly anxious person and the fact that this is totally throwing off my schedule so close to the holidays is majorly stressing me out. I always pack lunch, which is gonna be a moderate issue since we don't have much of a fridge at the hotel, but I'll work around it. Trying to think positives. The plus sides of this situation include - being located closer to the highway (cutting of about 15-mins of my 90-min commute), free breakfast (because who doesn't wanna start every morning with eggs!), no cleaning, and an "in-home" gym! I'll still be going to my regular gym for the most part (especially since I am closer to the highway), but I'd like to try and use that gym with my S.O. this weekend for back and power leg day. It could be fun trying to sub in some work outs! Plus, more time for cardio whether I'm at the hotel gym or my gym thanks to that bonus 15-mins!
How do you deal with stress when still trying to keep up with your fitness lifestyle? Ever been in a similar situation? How did you manage to keep meeting your macros without the convenience of a fridge or freezer (or being able to cook your own meals)?

Thanks! Need some good vibes for sure! I always work out and utilize that as stress relief, but with the extended hours at work I feel like I shouldn't be overexerting too much, maybe one or two days a week I'll stay at the gym longer than usual, but I don't want to chance getting sick. Wine sounds like a good solution though0 -
I was at a hotel a lot for work training recently. Meal replacements, specfically Soylent, helped me stay on track along with green giant steamers for a warm dinner. The exercise room was my best friend in the evenings after work.0

I, unfortunately, didn't get to try out the gym this weekend since we were moving from hotel to hotel (the things you do to find comfort for three people and two dogs). My nutrition fell off, but luckily we were able to get back in the house so I picked up my protein and BCAA's, so I can get back on track today. Gonna try out the gym tonight when I get home from work for arms, abs and cardio, then off to the LA Fitness across the street for an early morning heavy leg day! Gonna get those two "off days" in and then restart my 4-day circuit program on Wednesday.
Trying to not stress about missing two days this weekend. I knew this time of year would be tough between the holidays and extended hours at work, but this is making it way more difficult. Just so happens to be mid-bulk too so I'm extra anxious about missing work outs because they feel crucial to building strength at this point!0 -
o man, that sucks! I am glad none of you got sick from it though!!! Can you get a hotel room with a little sub kitchen? I know many hotels off suites like that so you can still cook.
When I am stressed I spend time with my cats- they are very soothing, so playing with the pups may help.0 -
We all are kinda feeling sick now, but only because we had to walk in and get some of our belongings out after they ripped out all the cabinets and walls - probably breathed in some of the spores. Supposedly it can be very serious though so we definitely got lucky! And yes! Playing with the dogs has been helping me a lot (and them! They are stressing out so bad with all the moving). And we luckily got a hotel with a full kitchen! So I'm contemplating whether we should go back to the house and save whatever food is in the fridge/freezer or do another grocery run. Have had a few people say we should pitch everything. Any ideas?0

Just realized that they have a free breakfast at my hotel as well! Starts at 6:30AM and I have to leave by 7:45AM to get to work on time, so that means on days when I plan to hit the gym in the evening (which probably won't be too often, but still) and on the weekends I can take advantage of that! Tonight I'm gonna go and get acquianted with the hotel gym since I know I can do my full arms/abs/cardio set there.0

Black mold is a major issue! I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. And I'm sure all the turmoil is very difficult for your pups, poor babies.
I'd ask the people who are clearing out the mold what is safe to keep and what needs to be thrown out. Hopefully they are reputable and knowledgeable and will be able to help. I hope it gets cleared out and fixed soon!0
