Only dumb bells

My employer offers us use of a free gym. As far as weight training, there are a few pieces of machinery, but for free weights there are only dumb bells. How can I get the most use out of these if I want to start here doing progressive lifting?

Find the thread 'Which lifting program is best for you' (I think it is in the 'gaining' subforum) read through the programmes and find one that fits your abilities and the equipment available.
Read up on the machines that are available and incorporate them if needed.

dumb bells are awesome. Plenty of good exercises with them for an overall progressive program. They kind of are the staple of any gym, and no home gym would be complete without them.
I mix up with barbells and machines just to work different stabilizers and to keep from getting bored.1 -
