Calorie discrepancy between MFP and Google Fit phone app

Hi, can anyone shed some light on why there's such a discrepancy between MFP and my Google Fit app? I cycled for 165 minutes at an average of about 10.8 mph and Google Fit said I had burned 680 calories but MFP was far more generous calculating it as either 1297 for between 12-14mph or 973 for between 10-12 mph. The ride included moderate hills. I don't want to fall into the trap of thinking I've got lots of exercise calories to play with only to find out that I don't! Appreciate any advice. Thanks from an MFP fan in frosty England (waiting for it to thaw a bit so I can go out for a run)

I'm also finding it a little annoying. It takes the time from Google Fit and applies some average speed. The calories are right there for them to pull.

Calories burned on any of these apps is approximately, they don't take into account how hard you have being working say into a head wind or other external forces. For the estimated calories you can eat back if feel hungry but don't need to if you don't feel hungry. If you listen to your body it will be about right if it says it's hungry it needs food if thirsty need drinks etc.
